John Kruk taken from Dodgers Stadium on a stretcher.

John Kruk won't be part of the broadcast as he usually is for Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN, as play-by-play man Dan Shulman opened the broadcast by saying Kruk is "a little under the weather."
That doesn't sound too bad, but this does:

 @PeteAbe
ESPN's John Kruk was just taken from the press box at Dodger Stadium on a stretcher. He was conscious.

Kruk, 52, spent parts of 10 seasons in the majors, playing for the Phillies, Padres and White Sox. He was a three-time All-Star for the Phillies. He's been with ESPN since 2004

Now obviously everyone is hoping that Kruk is OK (except for Curt Schilling)  because he's clearly one of the better guys around, and certainly one of the most entertaining guys on ESPN. But I am willing to bet a fortune that this is what happened: Kruk was walking up a steep seven step flight of stairs. With 14-26 hot dogs in hand our dear Krukie lost his breath quicker than he lost his kids at an all you can eat buffet. But the athlete he was forced him to press on. And with one final step, that was all she wrote. Belly up Kruk. I guarantee you it would be the way Kruk would have wanted to go out too. At the ballpark, with a couple hot franks, cold brews, on his back struggling for breath in the sultry California sun. Doesn't sound too bad to me. Krukie's having more fun in death than I did all of college.
